Spring Newsletter Published
Who can make sense of the world these days? Brexit? Tariff wars? This weather? Don't let it all get you down. Summer is on its way and we know what that means. Reruns on television. And Metis. Beautiful, sensational Metis.
Your board has been working diligently on a number of projects. One is a major update to the club website. Not only is it going to look sharper but it will be way more functional too. You will find everything you need in one easy to navigate place, including: social calendars, tournament information, fee schedule and more. But, what really makes this website special is that you'll be able to use it to pay your club fees.
Another update is to the accounting system. Julian Elliot and Matt Drouin have been working like mad men to pull our accounting practices into the 21st century. Hard work that is very much appreciated by those of us who break out in hives when challenged to do even the simplest mental math.
Yoga is back!
Chris Molson is leading one of the more popular activities at the club. He promises that all levels of yoga practitioners are welcome and that your body will become more resilient. Most important, you will feel better. Remember to bring your mat. Classes are on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 4:00 pm. Perfectly timed to slide into cocktail hour. Namaste!
New Dinner Dance package.
Metis typically reaches peak population around the Dinner Dance weekends. This year the Cascade is offering a special $100 package rate for each weekend. This package includes: one ticket to the Dinner Dance and unlimited golf and tennis on Saturday and Sunday. You can buy the package in advance or at the club. Please keep in mind this offer is intended for those coming down just for the weekend and not as an extension of a longer membership.
That's not all! There is also a President's Special!
This is the summer to celebrate new faces at the Cascade. The membership committee has come up with a 30% discount for new families taking a 4-day full membership at the Club (or longer). As well, any family introducing new members to the club will receive a $25 credit at the Caddy Shack. Speak to me, Laleah Macintosh, to receive the credit. And remember there isn't a limit to the number of families you can introduce nor the amount of credit you can receive!
Henri will be leading a complete new group this summer. As previously announced, Liliane Bussières has been hired to run the caddy house, Chantel Gauthier will manage the canteen and Jack Reford will be our tennis professional. Ghyslain and his team have been working hard to get the course ready. Charlie Drummond and Finn Steube are combining forces to be Co-Junior Co-ordinators. Yes, they are co-co-ordinators. No, they do not answer to Coco. Or, maybe they do. The club is still looking for a golf professional.
You can view the full CG&TC 2019 summer calendar here. If you prefer an old school download of the calendar, you can get that here. You'll find all the important events you need to participate in to maximize your summer fun, which, of course, includes attending the AGM on July 27. Cookies will be served. A download of the fee schedule can be found here. However, why not just visit the new CG&T online store here and purchase your memberships there? Also, don't forget about the special packages mentioned above, but note that in order to redeem your discounts, you should make your purchase onsite with Henri in the manager's office.
I would like to thank the board for their had work this off-season, especially Matt Drouin for taking on the website and Michael Ferrabee and the membership committee for innovating new ways to boost our membership.

I appreciate everyone's efforts and dedication to the Cascade Golf and Tennis Club.
